“Gemma led a walk for my elderly mum and her friend. We learnt about butterflies, birds and trees as well as history and how the local ecology is changing. Gemma was well prepared, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. Mum is very keen to do another wildlife walk with her.”

“Thank you for an excellent day at Sizergh which we all enjoyed. We came away full of the joys of spring after visiting those wonderful woodlands (as David exclaimed “half a dozen ancient woodland indicator species without even looking!”) and being treated to great views of both the Hawfinch and the Marsh Harrier. Your knowledge of local natural history Gemma is truly impressive.”

“We both felt that you’d understood us and our interests and pitched everything at the right level. We enjoyed every moment of the morning and it felt as if we were having a walk with a friend albeit one who could answer our questions and draw things to our attention that we might not have noticed - ant hills comes to mind! With many thanks for providing just the present I had in mind for Hannah.”

“Thank you so much for such a wonderful day at Arnside Knott. Thank you for your ease and warmth and contagious enthusiasm, for helping me use all my senses more fully and to especially see what was under my feet. Thank you too for igniting an interest in butterflies. I loved the little holly blues.”

“We had a fantastic full day out with Gemma. We were very fortunate with the wildlife we spotted together (ospreys, green woodpecker and silver washed fritillary butterfly) but also to have the benefit of Gemma’s knowledge and brilliant guiding skills. We were already familiar with the wider area, but Gemma uncovered some hidden spots and helped us to see the place in a brand new light.”

“After a lifetime of walking in the Lakes this is the first walk where I’ve slowed down and thought about what is around. A lovely thoughtful walk.”

“Great morning spent at Gait Barrows with the very knowledgeable and engaging Gemma. The sight of the meadows in full bloom was incredible and with too many wild orchids to count. The packed lunch was extremely tasty and eaten on a bench in the sunshine overlooking Hawes Water.”

“A wonderful day in South Cumbria. It is amazing what more there is to see and sense when you take your time to appreciate your surroundings and have someone there to interpret and inform you throughout.
What was potentially merely a pleasant walk was turned into a fantastic day of natural highlights with Gemma's expertise informing and deepening our understanding and appreciation throughout, be that of landscape, history, biodiversity, nature or wildlife.
Thoroughly recommended!”

“It's the first time I've ever been on a walk with a nature expert and I feel like a whole new world of discovery just opened up that's right here on my doorstep.
The whole experience was utterly delightful. I would highly recommend this tour to any local, holiday maker or anyone wanting to learn more about nature, landscape and ecology.”
